How we verify reviews

Last updated: 24 September 2026

Who may write a review

Nobody can simply leave a review on tamam.be. A job has to have taken place first. In concrete terms, these conditions apply:

  • The request must have been closed with an accepted quote. Without an accepted quote there is no job, and therefore no review.
  • The author must be a party to that quote: the customer who submitted the request, or the professional whose quote was accepted.
  • Each party may write once per job. A second attempt is refused.
  • It works both ways: the customer reviews the professional and the professional reviews the customer. A review of a customer is not published: only professionals on the platform can read it, and the customer themselves.

Whether and how we check this

We do not check afterwards, but beforehand. The system only lets a review come into existence when the conditions above are met, so a review from someone who did not use the service cannot be created at all. We do not buy reviews, we do not write any ourselves, and we do not accept any from third parties.

That is why every published review carries the “Verified” label. That label means precisely this: the author was demonstrably a party to a completed job on this platform. It does not mean we have assessed the content of the review for accuracy — that is the author’s own opinion.

Which reviews we publish

We publish every review of a professional that meets the conditions, positive as well as negative, in the order they were written. There is no selection and no filter on star rating.

We offer no payment, discount or priority in exchange for a review, and a professional cannot have an unfavourable review removed by paying for it.

How the average is calculated

The score on a profile is the arithmetic mean of all visible customer reviews of that professional, with no weighting for recency, job size or anything else. The number next to it is the number of reviews that average rests on. Hidden reviews (see below) count towards neither the average nor that number.

In addition, a customer may give sub-scores for workmanship, communication, punctuality, value for money, tidiness and aftersales. These are optional. Each sub-average is calculated over the reviews in which that sub-score was actually filled in; a sub-score nobody gave is left out rather than counted as zero.

When a review is hidden

An administrator can hide a review. This is done solely because of the content, never because of the score, and the reason is recorded with the review. The grounds are:

  • unlawful content: threats, incitement to hatred, defamation or other punishable statements;
  • personal data of third parties or contact details that do not belong in a public review;
  • content unrelated to the job carried out, including advertising and spam.

A hidden review disappears from the profile and drops out of the average. If you disagree with that decision, or believe a review is online wrongly, you can challenge it through our complaints and appeals procedure: reporting, complaints and appeals.
